Siemon Receives Two Innovators Awards

September 20, 2018. Watertown, CT - Siemon, a leading global network infrastructure specialist, today announced that it has been presented with two gold awards in the category of Connection & Cross Connection Devices during the Cabling Installation & Maintenance Innovators Awards ceremony on September 11th at the 2018 BICSI Fall Conference & Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas.

Based on six evaluation criteria, including innovation, value to the user, sustainability, meeting a defined need, collaboration, and market impact, the Innovators Awards are chosen by a judging panel that consists of Cabling Installation & Maintenance editors along with independent industry experts with vast industry experience. This year, Siemon was presented with two gold-level awards for its Z-PLUG™ Category 6A Field Terminated Plug and LightStack® 8 Ultra High-Density Plug-and-Play System.

Z-PLUG™ Category 6A Field Terminated Plug offers reliable, high-performance plug terminated links in the field that enable custom-length direct connections to a variety of IP-based and PoE-enabled devices deployed in today’s intelligent buildings such as PoE LED lights, security cameras, wireless access points, digital displays, distributed antenna systems (DAS), building automation controls and more. Plug terminated links enable rapid, more efficient deployment directly to these devices that often do not require an outlet and patch cord.

LightStack® 8 Ultra High-Density Plug-and-Play System is designed to provide the most efficient, cost-effective support of current and future 8-fiber applications. Consisting of Base 8 modules, adapters, assemblies and jumpers, LightStack 8 provides a complete end-to-end Base 8 fiber system with 100% fiber utilization.

“At Siemon, we pride ourselves in keeping a pulse on evolving technologies and trends while listening to the voice of the customer to integrate problem-solving innovations into our new products,” says Betsy Conroy, global marketing communications manager for Siemon. “That’s why we designed Z-PLUG with a shorter plug body, color coding capabilities and the ability to terminate both UTP and shielded cabling, and we designed LightStack 8 to ensure superior cable management and access while offering the simplest form of migration to current and future 8-fiber applications from 40 to 400 Gig. We are pleased to be recognized for these efforts through the Innovators Awards program.”

Alan Bergstein, publisher of Cabling Installation & Maintenance (cablinginstall.com) said "This prestigious program allows Cabling Installation & Maintenance to recognize the most innovative products and leaders serving the structured cabling industry. Our 2018 Honorees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact in the industry."
