Siemon takes centre stage at Data Centre World in Paris and Frankfurt

November 2017 - Siemon, a leading network infrastructure specialist, reinforced its continued commitment to providing market leading data centre solutions and expertise by taking centre stage at the Data Centre World expo in Paris and Frankfurt. Siemon took charge of the Live Green Data Centre by showcasing the benefits of its comprehensive range of 'WheelHouse' advanced data centre solutions comprising of cabinets, racks, copper and fibre optic cabling, and intelligent power distribution solutions.

During the course of four days across both events, over 3,000 delegates were able to learn about some of the latest innovations in the data centre environment, with the Live Green Data Centre being the 'show-piece' for the data centre focused event.

Speaking to a host of data centre professionals, including data centre managers, engineers and consultants at Data Centre World Paris (15-16 November) and Data Centre World Frankfurt (28-29 November), Siemon demonstrated how selecting, designing and deploying the right infrastructure can have a big impact on data centre energy efficiency and total running costs. Siemon also demonstrated the versatility and flexibility of their cabinet and rack solutions and proved the importance of selecting and deploying the right cable and power management solutions to ensure the longevity of a data centre design and build.

During the event Siemon's technical experts were on hand to advise and guide IT network and data centre professionals through the process of selecting and designing a high-performance infrastructure upon which their entire data centre can rely on today and in the future.

Speaking about the event, Siemon's technical manager and data centre specialist, Nicolas Roussel said: "For many leading organisations today, the data centre is a key strategic asset to help them reach their goals and to drive business productivity. The adoption of cloud services heavily relies on data centre innovation and Siemon offers such a wide range of solutions for data centres that it was great for some of these to be on display at Data Centre World."

The key focus for Siemon was to demonstrate its VersaPOD cabinet solution which helps optimise space utilisation through a specialised zero-u design and streamlined thermal management. Compared to narrow 600mm server cabinets VersaPOD? reduces costs by up to 46 per cent due to fewer cabinets, PDUs and patching, and decreases the number of stranded power outlets by up to 75 per cent. Also on display was the simplified 4-post rack which showed a minimalist solution for rapid deployments.

"The VersaPOD on display by Siemon has really given me ideas on how we can maximise space usage at our facility. We can truly rationalise our cabinets and racks with this solution", said a delegate on the Siemon stand.
