Enhanced Lead Time for Singlemode LC/APC Patch Cords
04.04.2018
In response to an increased trend of cloud/colocation and hyperscale data centres adopting APC singlemode connectors to connect carrier services and support higher speed Ethernet protocols, we are pleased to offer an enhanced lead time of 3 to 5 days for Siemon’s XGLO FJ2 LC/APC duplex singlemode patch cords in 1, 2, 3 and 5 meter lengths, including hybrid patch cords in both riser and LSOH jacket ratings.
The main difference between APC and UPC connectors is the fiber endface. Singlemode UPC patch cords feature a rounded finish and a blue connector body, while APC connectors are polished at an 8-degree angle and feature a green connector body.
- The angled endface of an APC connector causes much of the reflected light signal to be deflected into the cladding so it can’t interfere with the signal.
- APC connectors provide significantly better return loss performance (typically -65dB for APC vs. -50dB for UPC), making them ideal for high bandwidth and long-haul links, as well as any wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) applications that are more sensitive to return loss.
The following LC/APC jumpers now ship from China for ERA with a 3 to 5 days’ lead time.
